This showy perennial is native to much of the Northeast, however it is introduced in Massachusetts. This bright and colorful species is highly ornamental, making a great addition to a garden setting, especially when planted in masses. While this plant prefers some moisture, it can handle the dry soils of the Cape when put in partial shade. This species does self-seed and can easily spread to fill in a garden bed area.
